Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure

Since Jan 2022 we have been working with “Our Dementia Choir”. We were very touched that the choir and Vicky chose to cover our song “What’s Your Story?”, a band favourite, first released in 2015 on our album “Bridges”. As the project evolved, Karen and Nick began to support the choir more closely - attending rehearsals and building amazing relationships with choir manager Karen Bonser, Vicky, Jess and every individual choir member and crew. Alongside the fabulous Choir Master and Director Mark De-Lisser and Assistant Musical Director Daniela Smith they helped in developing new harmony parts and a stronger understanding of the meaning of the song.

As the filming of the choir’s new BBC One series grew closer, the decision was made by Vicky, Peter Coventry & his crew from Curve Media to follow the choir learning the song and eventually recording it as their own single. It was at this point THE IDOLINS were asked to record the single with the choir at Abbey Road Studios in the infamous Studio 2! Of course, we jumped at the chance.
